congressmen used to engage in fistfights while in session. vice president burr killed a man (who happened to be secretary of the treasury) in a duel. i think we can stand a bit of jeering… can’t we?

now, i’m the first to say that the political climate in this country has reached the point of utter absurdity. there is no discourse, only polemic. there is no critical thinking, only blind devotion.

that being said, the actual outburst was kind of fun…. the motivation behind it, slightly more depressing.

I agree with you 100%. I think that constructive discourse has been eroded. This process has been gradual, but now it really seems to be fulminant in its course. The one thing that we can do to divert this path is to continue to influence those around us in a civil and positive manner.
